• door greeter, choir member, event planner, etc.

“If it is serving, then serve, if it is teaching, then teach. Never be lacking in zeal,
but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord.” (Romans 12:7, 11 NIV)

“Serve wholeheartedly, as if you were serving the Lord, not people.” (Ephesians 6:7 NIV)

with such sacrifices God is pleased.” (Hebrews 13:16 NIV)

World Venture

Corby and Ashley White of Shanksville, PA serve as missionaries in Poland through the World Venture organization. World Venture’s mission includes facilitating global missions and partnering with local churches around the world. The White’s believe that scripture not only commands them to be witnesses to the world, but also to invest in the people they bring to Christ, mentoring and preparing them so they too can “go out” and fulfill the plan God has for them. Corby and Ashley have been involved in ministering to the homeless and have seen quite a few baptized and become members of their church, and in return give back as volunteers in the same ministry. In addition to the monthly support Bethany United Methodist Church provides to the White’s, many of our church members are also supporting them. If you would like to provide financial assistance to Corby and Ashley, you can mail a donation to Bethany United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 23, Sipesville, PA 15561.

“Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of
the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded
you. And surely I am with you always to the very end of the age.” (Matthew 28:19-20 NIV)

Next Step Center

The Next Step Center provides temporary housing for Somerset County families and individuals, enabling them to work toward resolving issues that led to their homelessness. The Next Step Center policy is to offer a helping hand, not a hand-out. Several members of Bethany United Methodist Church serve as board members and/or volunteer at the center. If you would like to provide financial support to the Next Step Center, you can mail your donation to the Next Step Center at 406 Stoystown Road, Somerset, PA 15501.
